Competitive Funding for HDRs and ECRs

Supporting Emerging Researchers

Idealization, Computation and Cognition 2027 is committed to supporting the participation of emerging researchers.

To facilitate this participation, a total funding pool of up to AUD $10,000 will be available on a competitive basis to support eligible Higher Degree Research (HDR) students and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) presenting at the conference.

Purpose of the Funding

Funding is intended to reduce financial barriers to participation and support the inclusion of promising emerging researchers whose work contributes to the conference's intellectual aims.

Applications will be considered in conjunction with submissions to the conference's Call for Papers.

Eligibility

Funding is intended for HDR students and ECRs whose papers are accepted for presentation at the conference.

Applicants will be asked to indicate their career stage and provide a brief justification for financial assistance.

Assessment

Funding will be allocated competitively, taking into consideration:

  • The academic quality and originality of the proposed contribution.

  • Its relevance to the conference themes.

  • The applicant's career stage and professional development opportunities.

  • The financial circumstances relevant to conference participation.

How to Apply

Further details about the application process, eligible expenses and funding decisions will be announced alongside the Call for Papers.

Please note: Funding is limited and competitive. Acceptance of a paper does not automatically guarantee financial support.
